dvdbackup 877New X11 trouble I have three hosts on my home network, hosta, hostb & hostc, and I'm having connection troubles amongst some of them. hosta can run remote X11 applications on either... In my OP I mentioned that I'm trying to use growisofs, which has worked well for me in the past. But, I just ran across a DVD which rips to store ~7GB of data on my harddrive. For some reason (-; growisofs complains that it can't fit 7GB of data on my 4GB DVD-+R(RW) blanks. My buttumption is that the creator of the DVD used some sort of compression with their files, and that ripping the DVD uncompressed them. How else could 7GB fit onto a DVD? Does anyone know how to compress the data back to fit on the DVD? That'd have to be done with some transcoder? There are a number of extras on that DVD besides the main breastle, each of which is selectable in the DVD player. It would be OK with me to put only the main breastle on the backup copy, but I haven't figured out how to sort through the ripped files to do that. Here's what dvdbackup created on my harddrive: Is Daylight Savings enabled 881 On Tue, 04 Apr 2006, in the Usenet newsgroup comp.os.linux.misc, in article It doesn't exist as a specific control or checkbox.
