If I was experiencing this issue, and it caused no adverse effects like, say, lockups and crashes, and, hey, not even automatic reboots, after reviewing the information that's available about it on the internet, I'd leave it well enough alone and spend my time on stuff that actually matter to me. You might be of a different opinion and perhaps replace your hardware because of it, but it's pretty drastic to call someone stupid for making another judgement call based on facts.
