install firefox 1.5.02 problem 922Hi, thanks to all. thank you very much. i 'm understand it is need to type the full path. when i enter the full pathroot-firefox-firefox, it shows error libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory." odd cron job using access.log by testuser Uh oh. I think I know what's going on, but in my inexperience, it's only a guess. I could use some confirmation and opinions regarding extent of the damage. I looked... i aslo tried to extract the tar file inusr-local # cdusr-local-firefox # .-firefox it shows the same error. Then, i searched my redhat CD but the file "libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0" does not exist. Then, i searched the web. i found the "RPM resource libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0" file which is provided by "gtk2-2.4.13-2.1.i686" (i confirm it right because my cpu is P3). it is called "gtk2-2.4.13-2.1.src.rpm" and then i download it and installed it. it shows OK. after this, i can't found the file "libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0" on my system although i installed it. So, it show the same error again when i enter the full pathroot-firefox-firefox. as someone said there's no way i should be able to install firefox under redhat-7.3 - incompatible libraries!! (i'm understand now) i also tried it on fedora core 4 but failed. the similar error "missing libraries" again. now i'm understand - old OS should use old software. i really want to install new OS but my machine is old. now, i only want to use back old mozilla 0.9.9 as before. i have tired to use my redhat cd to recover it but failed. and i tried to reinstall using rpm from cd also failed. when i enter command mozilla or open it though gnome they are both not response. How do i repair it. please help. thank you very much. -pbh- F
