When udev works, it createsdev-usb-lp0 automatically, as soon as you connect a USB printer. The device file disappears again... usr-sbin-logrotateetc-logrotate.conf EXITVALUE=$? if $EXITVALUE != 0 ; then usr-bin-logger -t logrotate "ALERT exited abnormally with $EXITVALUE" fi exit 0 I have never sen the ALERT message. Butetc-logrotate.conf tells it what to do.
