kdevelop 957chinton First of all: great you like to explore another interesting part of kde-linux. Don't see below comments as negative criticism. I am sure you will be able to achieve nice things given you take the time to get familiar with it. To my knowledge you can compile-link single program files. But it's been a while since I last fired up kdevelop, and an install of it just now didn't go well, something with some mirrors for the updates-released being out of reach. I also have little experience with the inner workings of kdevelop, just played with it for a bit. I don't understand what you mean by Konsole wraps too early. What are you doing in Konsole ? I don't see it popping up if I start kdevelop. What distro are you using, and have you tried updating kdevelop to the latest version? For FC4 the newest version is 9:3.2.2-0.fc4.1 x.o is an object file, not an executable binary. Just starting a development environment and than haphazardly pushing some buttons isn't a recommendable approach. Look up some tutorial, read man pages or help files with kdeveleop before you start. Newsgroups aren't an excuse for skipping the homework required for achieving something.
