It would also be advisable that you read through the various sections of theKDE-Help-Center,which is typically activated by clicking on the buoy-shaped icon on your KDE panel. It covers just about everything that typically comes with the KDE desktop - e.g.KMail,-Knode,et al. You can also bring up theHelp-Centerfrom within the K-menu, by the way. Just restart them. Open up a terminal window, and as a regular user, type... knotify ... or... artsd ... at the command prompt, depending on which one you need to restart. That has always worked for me.
