Well, I don't think Windows really sucks. I don't like Microsoft - you could clbuttify me as a rabid Microsoft hater, I guess, but for the great mbuttes of people, it's an OK OS. It's not OK at all for anyone who really wants to use their computer (rather like taking public transportation vs. owning a motorcycle), and the corporation that produces is disgusting in many ways.

As to Linux, yeah, there are zealots and I don't like 'em. Some of these people have a religious fervor that I find quite disturbing. On the other hand, I do agree that open source is politically important and (imho) good for the world, so I cut them some slack on their enthusiasm. Better than apathy, I guess. But unless something changed when I wasn't looking, it is all just political opinion: I don't think we can prove that closed source is bad and open source is good. I can believe it; I can come up with all sorts of rational arguments that make sense to me, but I have to admit that the world is far too complicated to say with butturance that the future will be a better place if Microsoft dies and Linux takes over. It would be a better place in my opinion, for sure, but that's as far as it goes.
