ntfs supportIvan Some 2.4 kernels have the read-only NTFS driver, but not all. A kernel upgrade is strongly advisable considering your kernel version number, regardless of the NTFS support. If you build the latest 2.4 kernel, you can throw NTFS read support in easily. If you absolutely MUST have Linux accessing NTFS read-write, you'll need a recent 2.6 kernel (and related module-init-tools if you're building a modular kernel) with the FUSE (filesystem in user space) driver compiled in, and you'll want to locate the NTFS tools that include the program "ntfsmount" which is a FUSE implementation of a read-write NTFS driver. You might see references to "Captive-NTFS" but I'd avoid using Captive since the FUSE option exists and does not require a (copyrighted, proprietary) NTFS.SYS from Windows NT-2K-XP. VFAT is the way to go if you need to share. I know 2000-XP won't let you make VFAT parbreastions bigger than a certain number of GiB, and in such a case, this advice is fairly useless (unless you want an extra parbreastion *just for sharing things*). Hopefully you can find your answer in the mess I just wrote. :) ~ Jody Lee Bruchon Need vacationautoresponder software Greetings.
