please help, using USB port on fedoracupsd wont start why Hi everybody, I don't know why, but my cupds does not want to start (anymore). I tried deinstall reinstall, looked at cupds.conf etc... hi folks, please help! i have a card that i plug into the pcmcia slot on a laptop. once loaded there are two new usb devices in theproc-bus-usbdirectory, great, that's what is supposed to happen. one of the entries is supposed to be a serial device accessible through usb, it has a vendor and product id so i use those. i type modprobe usbserial vendor=(id) product=(id) using the correct product and vendor id's of course and i get a message invar-log-messages saying that a new usbserial device has been loaded. great. now the trouble ... where is the new usbserial port ? i look indev and don't see anything resemblingdev-ttyUSB0 or anything like that, where did it get mounted ? thevar-log-messages entry doesn't say anything about where the device is only that it's been loaded into the kernel. how do i talk to it ? i thought there is supposed to be a serial port somewhere that i can talk to. i tried to "tip" to only to find that tip wasn't in my path (or anywhere else from what i can tell), not that it would have worked anyway since i don't know what the device is called or where it is located. any help GREATLY appreciated, please help. :) please please. lol.
