problems with Gentoo messages on startup, installing gnuplot, running KDE 3646PartimageDVDRAM Hello! I have a problem with my DVD-RAM drive (Panasonic LF-D201) under Gentoo-Linux (SystemRescueCd) with Partimage-0.6.4 I can mount the drive using: mkdirmnt-dvd mount -t vfatdev-sr0mnt-dvd... PartimageDVDRAM 3650 Black Sun and said: OK, this is the partimage client detecting that the parbreastion you're *saving* is FAT32. Not the parbreastion you're writing to. My bad... THE SECOND PROBLEM concerns installing gnuplot. As I've said, everything was installe by emerge and, according to emerge -tpuD gnuplot evarything needed is installed except with the gnuplot itself. What is given by emerge to STDOUT I shall not include here (about 45kB...) but on the first sight there's nothing suspicious (to me, but I'm not an experienced Linux user...). The result on STDERR is: configure: WARNING: If you wanted to set the --build type, don't use --host. If a cross compiler is detected then cross compile mode will be used. configure: WARNING: If you wanted to set the --build type, don't use --host. If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message. ethernet card no longer recognized I've got Ubuntu Hoary on an IBM Thinkpad with a built-in network card, which was working without any problems what so ever. here's the thing; for the last 5 months...
When doing modprobe svgalibhelper the only result is (on STDERR): bane: Error inserting svgalibhelper (-lib-modules-2.6.11-gentoo-r6-kernel-misc-svgalibhelper.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

The question is: what to do to install gnuplot? :-) Regards. -- Marcin Balcerzak
