Yeah that takes care of whiteout as well as one can hope.
problem playing "Flash based CD Hi folks, I am running Debian Sarge for x86 on my AMD64. recently i downloaded Bruce Eckel's "Thinking in C" CD which is heavily Flash 7 based seminar. This CD is... should be -a 1,1 -o ... that's all one line and the -a is for *both* audio and video. Look at the options for -y and -F - frequently you can type: transcode -y ffmpeg -F list for example to list the possible choices for output of mpeg "type" and try leaving out the -x most times transcode will autodetect what the file is and the option you have will null the audio anyways BTW that line seems to be normal behavior if you're not getting directly from DVD. You notice the version number - in linux (unlike MS) it actually means something - this is only the third working version that doesn't crash. That very well could be caused be you choosing bad arguments for -x and -y - they aren't the extension, they are the decoding library used to read-write the movie from which you can get mpeg1,mpeg2 vcd DVD output for example with ffmpeg and lame. ffmpeg will give mpeg1 video,mpeg2 video and lame can give mp3 mp2 mp2 & mpeg1 giving normal mpeg1 video whereas mpeg2 video and pcm (wave) or "raw" as the library is called is DVD video and mpeg2 and ac3 is normal mpeg2 video. So you see you *have* to specify the output video and audio to get anything meaningfull. The best way to get the choices for libraries is to look at the library where transcode has it's modules put when it's installed. You will get exportffmpeg.o exportmp3.o etc. along with import and the filters.
It took me a couple of weeks to get transcode to work for me the first time - and that's with looking at the partial output I was getting with mplayer. In addition *after* it's done sucessfully, you will get 2 files .mpeg.m1v and .mpeg.mp3 for example, the former is the video and the later is the audio, *nowhere* in the documentation does it properly explain this, but to merge them you have to do a: Rogue remote root logins Hey all. I had an un-updated x8664 SuSE 9.2 box that apparently got hacked into. I had naively allowed remote root access, although my... Any further questions, don't hesitate to ask, transcode is a real chore to learn, but I have yet to find anything - aside from corrupted avi files - and only in some cases - that it won't translate. -- (setq (chuck nil) car(chuck) )
