If it had zero worth, why do people post all the time asking how to get it back? Why do they have to learn by themselves and not from the experience of others? Around here we get a lot of power interuptions. Many last about 1 second, but I do not know if my computer power supplies will coast over that long a gap by themselves. The EPS12V specification, to which the power supply in this computer claims to adhere, recommends that the output voltages stay within regulation for 21 milliseconds, minimum, after loss of AC. The 5 Volt standby supply is required to stay within regulation for at least 70ms. Others last a few minutes or more. Twice so far this year, they lasted over an hour, and my UPS for this machine (2200KVA rated) will hold it up only about 68 minutes, so I have the software power down after 55 minutes. A few years ago, power was off for about 3 days as they replaced two of the 4 transformers in the local power substation. Too many air conditioners were on, and overloaded them for too long and they are said to have gone up in flames (I did not see them). I hope they were not cooled with PCBs. -- .~.
