Like all spammers and-or trolls he hates Challenge-Responses because he can't beat them. These systems... I didn't say there was anything wrong with using a free Linux or FreeBSD, I just said that if you are shipping a bundled system that you ought to decide if you want to ship it with a free version or a commercial version and that if you want to ship it with a free version pick it a distribution that's meant to be free. You brought up the appliances which I wasn't thinking about, I was thinking about a full system where the end user knows that they are using an OS. In the case of appliances you can pick anything you want because the OS is invisible to the end user. If you are building an appliance then pick something that meets your engineering needs. You will have to post the code that you use on your website to comply with the GPL but that's it. In the appliance case there is no advantage to using something like RHEL or a clone because you are only using a subset of the OS anyway and long term support doesn't matter because the OS is rolled up witht he whole app.
