See the HOWTO's. But without a basic working knowledge of Linux, which you obviously lack, they won't do you much good.

So all you want is a complete linux course. You obviously haven't studied Linux at all and need a firm grasp on all the basics to even understand the answers to the above questions.

Why aren't you using Linux now? If you can't do that you aren't ready to do systems administration work at this level. Period.

"Running Linux" is a really good book.

Here's a good, basic Linux course:

If you actually had Linux up and running, you'd be able to cut and paste that to the commandline, hit enter, and it would bring down the file, uncompress it, and untar it into its own directory, which you would then be able to open in your browser.
