Hello, I've asked this question many times but didn't get any reply. Here's my problem. I'm unable to get any sound output for Quake 3 and Doom 3. The error is "cannot mmapdev-dsp". Here's output from lsmod and lspci

lsmod sndvia82xx 33445 4 sndac97codec 84417 1 sndvia82xx sndpcmoss 59513 0 sndmixeross 20801 2 sndpcmoss sndpcm 123981 3 sndvia82xx,sndpcmoss sndtimer 36168 plus 1 1 sndpcm sndpagealloc 11473 2 sndvia82xx,sndpcm gameport 5057 1 sndvia82xx sndmpu401uart 11713 1 sndvia82xx sndrawmidi 32997 1 sndmpu401uart sndseqdevice 9805 1 sndrawmidi snd 64425 14 sndvia82xx,sndac97codec,sndpcmoss,sndmixeross,sndpcm,sndtimer, sndmpu401uart,sndrawmidi,sndseqdevice soundcore 12641 2 snd

lspci 00:11.5 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8233-A-8235-8237 AC97 Audio Controller (rev 60)

Let me know if there are more relevant groups to ask this question.

Regards, GVK

ps:- I've formatted my windows parbreastion and these are the only two games I got for playing in Linux. So, I desperately need to get the sound running :-(
