I've recently installed debian sarge, and I'm still having a couple of problems with X (after the help I had from my last post).

- There's a weird bug with the mouse, where mouse clicks are only registered after I've moved the mouse at least one pixel. This means whenever I want to click a button, I have to do a kind of 'micro-drag' to make it work. Which is liveable with but annoying. This is with the scroll wheel turned off - if I enable scrolling, it gets worse, with any mouse movement registering as a scroll event.

- I still can't get Gnome to start up. It throws up an error saying the xkb config is too complex, and hangs when the 'loading toolbar' icon has just appeared on the splash screen. Someone suggested I change the XKbLayout option from 'uk' (Ukraine) to 'gb' (Great Britain), but this didn't help.

I'm using a ps-2 mouse and keyboard. The mouse is an optical genius netscroll mouse.

any help appreciated.

thanks, andy baxter.
