strange things in bookmarks.htmlshutdown hangs Very weird. I can't get shutdown to work. I've tried "shutdown -h now", "shutdown -r now", and "reboot" and "poweroff", yet, here I am, posting to a newsgroup... Charles said the following, on 12-14-05 14:19: snip shutdown hangs 7188 On Wed, 14 Dec 2005, Peter T. Breuer .. .. Same thing, basically, happened again today. I tried many ways to... These site icon "tokens copies" are something that has appeared relatively recently. I don't know offhand when, or where, they were introduced; perhaps someone else here does. Yes. Somehow I missed the last one (browser.chrome.loadtoolbaricons) when I checked the docs. Here are the possible values, from the MozillaZine knowledge base 0 (default): Never load site icons-favicons when displaying bookmarks in menus (overrides browser.chrome.siteicons) 1: Load site icons-favicons when they've been cached 2: Always load site icons-favicons I think that the specification of 0 as a default here is wrong; it looks to me to be 1, anyway, if not 2. Thanks for that info. I guess it's not surprising, since there are many sites that don't have these tiny icons. I don't know quite what you had in mind w-r-t "a macro", but it should be pretty easy to strip them out with Perl or AWK. I'm not sure it's worth it: in percentage terms, they may take a bit of soace, but I suspect in the normal course of things they really don't make much of a difference.
