Umm, I read this stuff in talk.bizarre, where there is plenty of expert opinion available, it being one of the newsgroups where a cluster of extremely intelligent oldbies have accumulated over the years. I have xposted everything I post (every time I remember to do so) to misc.misc since roughly 1990, for political reasons having to do with preserving Usenet intact and already frequently explained elsewhere online. Your "no reason" is merely an expression of your ignorance and unwillingness to do the work needed to relieve yourself of that ignorance unprompted, not of my lack of reasons.

How sad for you. I sysadmined BSD 4.2, BSD 4.3 and some dual boot Unix-MS-Windows whose specifics I've forgotten, at Old Dominion University, SCO Unix, at Fleet Numerical METOC Command, and FreeBSD embedded systems at IBM-Whistle, it's just been a long, busy time since the last one in 2000, so I don't remember much of the details any more. Michael Heiming I was using BSD 4.2 in 1984, I'm not quite sure what led you to think "Unix War Stories" == "HPUX war stories"; I've used so many flavors of Unix...

to somebody attempting a trans-newsgroup fracas with Kent: if you are going to crosspost to t.b in an attempt to win a peeing contest with one of usenet's longest running stubborn, insane hyperlexic bulldogs, then at least be interesting or clever or amusing as you go about it.
