tn3270 emulation install helpHow to remove files created by 'mknod' kernel version 2.4.21 Hi all, I cannot delete files created by 'mknod'. I used a subdir in my... Snip... Since the manpage works, this says the installed executable isn't (for some inscrutable reason) compatible with your system--both are i386 so it *should* at least start to execute (as you know). Very odd. I used tn3270 a VERY long time ago (early 90's?); more recent installs which I'm familiar with use the X (GUI) version (x3270). This may be a library conflict--your version of tn3270 may be compiled and linked with very old tools-codes, which are incompatible with your more recent Linux distro (?). OK, but depending on the *distro* (SuSE 9.x, Fedora 3, etc.), you will have inevitable customizations, leading to inevitable conflicts as you cover different ground over various timeframes. I've not tried it myself, but you may be able to compile and link from source RPMs of tn3270. It could be "interesting" because I don't think tn3270 is being actively developed-supported (AFAIK). I personally wouldn't advise source RPMs, but that's up to you. I'd suggest you either find a version of tn3270 customized to whatever distro you use, or get the distro X version (x3270) instead (if you're doing X anyway on your install) to connect to the IBM system. At any rate, it seems you need a version of either tn3270 or x3270 for your particular distro--sorry I can't be more specific. -- Regards, Weird (Harold Stevens) * IMPORTANT EMAIL INFO FOLLOWS * Pardon any bogus email addresses (wookie) in place for spambots.
