uninstall TCLRemote Printer Trouble Hi, I'm having trouble with a remote printer. The Epson Stylus Color 860 printer is on...
That should be a red flag to you - if there are all those dependencies, then a) you don't want to remove it, at least not without removing all those other programs (and all the things dependant on them, etc.) and b) if tcl were something dangerous, then tcl wouldn't be used in all those places. Did the consultant also warn you to remove all programs written in C? Because if you look at security announcements, you will see that many of them (perhaps even the majority) are programs whose problems are a result of being written in C. Perhaps all the code written in C, and the c compiler and libraries, should also be removed? Of course, that would include removing nearly all of Linux and the GNU utilities, etc. And you couldn't move to Windows, because most of it is written in some varient of C as well. I think you are going to find that there are a lot more people doing hacking in perl, shell, and c than there are in tcl... -- Even if explicitly stated to the contrary, nothing in this posting should be construed as representing my employer's opinions.
