Unfortunately, it's impossible to answer those questions with 100% certainty unless the answerer has actually run the program in question -- and even then, version differences and differences in configuration can throw a monkey wrench into the equation.

Hi, I tried hard but that "No fonts" error won't go away in my installation (*exact wording: "There...

In any event, you can certainly try WINE, and it might well work. The WINE compatibility database says Access '97 works well, with the exception of file locking, but I know next to nothing about this program, so I don't even know what an "Access '97 runtime application" is or whether the rating for Access as a whole is relevant.

The bottom line is: You'll have to try it to find the answer. The answer's essentially the same for Crossover Office.

Not for WINE, but some programs do work better (or only) if you install some genuine Windows DLL files.

If you're pressed for time and have some spare cash, you might look into copy of Windows to work. They run more programs than WINE does because they set up a virtual machine that runs the real Windows OS within Linux. (WINE, by contrast, replicates the Windows calls, which means that when a call doesn't work quite exactly like its Windows counterpart, a program can behave strangely or crash.) There's also the open source Bochs which will severely degrade performance.
