wireless lan 101 4682killpg shell command 4684 You're taking things to literally. Please think back to algebra, where we learned the concept of a letter being... Peter T. Breuer killpg shell command 4683 On 2005-09-08, Keith Keller Who said anything about command names? -n where n is larger than 1. All... OK, I had to log out and re-login as root to run the command. Then when I run cardinfo I get: "Could not run the specified command". Same thing when I run ispci. On the other hand when I earlier inserted the PC Card - which is the one I need anyway because it has wpa capability - I get a new hardware popup that tells me it is a "Abocom ACX 111 54Mbps Wireless Interface". I configured it as DHCP controlled, blank ESSID and no pbuttwords. When in KDE I go to Menu StartSystemMonitor KInfoCenter Network Interfaces, I find only one line. It says: Name - lo IP Address - 127.0.0.1 Network mask - 255.0.0.0 Type - Loopback Status - up If you tell me what info you need and how to get it I will be glad to do so because I really appreciate the help. But being a newbie to Linux I do not even know what info is needed. I tried to get the chip info by searching the web for it and was unsuccessful. My linux installation went like a dream and everything works just fine except for the wireless network part. Jeff
